Yogahouse, opening in May, is a reincarnation of the former Melanee Cooper Gallery, 740 N. Franklin St. in Chicagos River North Gallery District. In her past life, Melanee spent 22 years as a curator, art dealer, and entrepreneur. Ten years ago she began practicing the art of yoga, which became a spiritual journey that changed her life. Now certified as a yoga teacher, Melanee has converted her gallery space into a yoga studio where she will teach classes in Hatha, Vinyasa flow, Self-awakening and Restorative yoga, in addition to workshops. Classes will be offered before work, throughout the day, lunchtime (Monday-Friday), after work, and on weekends. In addition to sharing her passion for yoga, Melanee plans to develop outreach programs to serve com munities in need, and a free community yoga class will be offered every week.
